Water Quality Services

Water Quality program staff work to ensure that groundwater and surface water are safe from potential sources of contamination by enforcing the state of Ohio Sewage Treatment System (STS) and Private Water System (PWS) rules.  Program staff are responsible for the permitting and inspection of STS for residential homes, small commercial properties, and private drinking water systems such as wells, cisterns, etc.

As part of this work, our Water Quality Program is committed to making records accessible to the community. Explore our interactive Water Quality Map to identify whether a parcel is served by a Sewage Treatment System (STS) or a Private Water System (PWS). This tool helps homeowners, contractors, and others better understand the type of system associated with a property. [Click here to view the map.]

For the most accurate and up-to-date information about a specific property, please visit our Water Quality Public Records Portal [Click here to search records] or contact our office.
