Fathers and Partners Support Healthy Birth Outcomes
Involved fathers and partners play an important role in supporting healthy pregnancies, births, and babies. Their emotional and practical support can help reduce maternal stress, which is a known risk factor for preterm birth and low birth weight.
When fathers and partners are engaged early—by attending prenatal visits, encouraging healthy lifestyle choices, and helping create a safe and stable home environment—families are better prepared to navigate the healthcare system and support their baby’s health during the first year of life.
