The WIC Farmers' Market Nutrition Program

allows families on WIC to get $30 to spend on fresh fruits, vegetables and cut herbs at an approved WIC Farmers' Market. This is an added benefit that is separate from the fruit and vegetable money loaded to the WIC card.
Summit County WIC has set days where staff will be present at the market to issue benefits.

Ohio WIC is now using the Homegrown Benefits app for the Farmers Market. Find the Home Grown Benefits button in the WIC Shopper app or download the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play store. 

  • WIC staff will create a profile for you on the HomeGrown Benefits app when you attend the Farmers Market. You cannot create your own profile. WIC staff must create a profile for you. This is because of how the app works.
  • Benefits are given on a first come, first served basis and it is possible benefits may run out before the end of the market.
  • Bennefits will not be given before the start of the market.
  • Benefits must be spent during the current year. They cannot be saved to use next year.
  • Benefits do not have to be spent all at once. They can be used at any of the participating markets listed below.
  • For the 2026 Farmers Market season, families will be eligible to receive a total of $30 in benefits for the season. Meaning if you received benefits from one market, you cannot go to another market to get more.
  • Please bring a mobile device (phone or tablet) that you can use to take and view pictures at the market.
  • This new process will take longer to complete at first. Please be patient with staff as we handle this change
