Eclipse 2024

April 8, 2024 is going to be an exciting day here in Summit County (and Ohio, too)!
In preparation, we're providing the information and links below so that all our residents and visitors can have a safe & healthy eclipse viewing!

  • Mobile Food Vendors

    •  Ohio Law requires that every person, which intends to prepare, serve or sell food from a movable vehicle, portable structure or watercraft that routinely changes location, obtain a Mobile Food Operation License.

    •  Please note that if you had a food license for your mobile in 2023, the expiration for your license is February 29th, 2024. If you plan to operate for any events during the April 2024 solar eclipse, you must apply for a Mobile Food Operation License for the 2024-2025 licensing year prior to the event. Your application MUST be submitted prior to March 31st, 2024 to allow our staff time to accommodate your request and schedule your inspection.

    •  Mobile Fair Information – For mobile license renewals, SCPH will be hosting a mobile food roundup to efficiently inspect and license existing mobile facilities for the 2024-2025 license year, This event is NOT for new mobile licensing. The event will be held at our office on two dates - 8:00am to 3:30pm on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 and 8:00am to 3:30pm on Tuesday, March 26, 2024. Please call SCPH at (330) 926-5645 Monday thru Thursday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM and provide the name of the truck, operator, contact phone number, desired date to attend, and information on any changes made to the mobile menu or layout since the last inspection. Note: If you leave a message, your spot will not be guaranteed. If operators cannot attend, they can contact their food inspector to schedule their renewal inspection - however inspections will not be available April 1st thru April 8th due to inspectors being needed to conduct other inspections associated with the eclipse.
