Operation Permits

In 2015, the State of Ohio adopted new regulations which require that local health departments issue an operation permit for all households with a sewage treatment system (STS). Each STS will receive a permit that identifies a permit length, how often the STS needs to be inspected, and the maintenance that must be completed during each of those inspections. The homeowner is responsible for paying for the operation permit fee and hiring a service provider to inspect and maintain the system. The goal of this program is to improve the water quality in Summit County and the surrounding watersheds

Registered Contractors

The list below includes all of the contractors that are registered to provide service in Summit County, including haulers, installers and service providers.

Some types of STS require service contracts and/or specific certifications for those who service these systems. This list includes companies with specialized certifications for systems such as NPDES, Spray Irrigation, Drip Distribution, or Peat Biofilter

If you have any questions about how to select the correct contractor for your system, please contact our office at 330 926-5600.
