Advisory Council

Mission

The Summit County Office of Minority Health Advisory Council works on the advancement, protection, and education of Summit County’s minority residents. The Advisory Committee is also charged with reviewing and creating opportunities within the community to address issues surrounding minority health.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Help facilitate access to racial/ethnic and immigrant/refugee populations and service agencies/organizations
  • Help facilitate knowledge of and access to funding and grant opportunities for the Office of Minority Health initiatives and their endorsement
  • Help with accessing agencies/organizations that provide services to racial/ethnic and immigrant/refugee populations
  • Facilitating collaborative relationships with and among agencies/organizations that provide services to racial/ethnic and immigrant/refugee populations
  • Acting as a sounding board for ideas of how to facilitate access to and utilization of services by racial/ethnic and immigrant/refugee populations
  • Helping with data collection to facilitate better understanding of racial/ethnic and immigrant/refugee populations
  • Attend at least 80% of meetings held during the current fiscal year
