About

1 to 2 years after quitting smoking your risk of heart attack drops sharply.

SCPH and its partners are working hard to fight diseases and deaths caused by tobacco. They have several plans:

Stopping Young People from Smoking

  • Aims to prevent young people from starting to smoke.

Helping People Quit

  • Encourages both adults and youth to stop smoking to improve their health.

Creating Smoke-Free Areas

  • Reduce secondhand smoke to provide everyone with cleaner air.

Closing Health Gaps

  • Remove differences in tobacco-related health issues to benefit all communities.

The Tobacco Use Prevention and Cessation Program grant helps change how people think about tobacco. Its goals are to reduce tobacco use and secondhand smoke in local areas. It supports making homes and public spaces smoke-free for healthier living.
